Unlike many volunteer departments, Inlet Emergency Services owns the building and all the equipment. There is no government intervention and we are contracted by the town to respond to emergency calls. What this simply means is there is not a large operating budget. All purchases are made from donations and the fund raising efforts of its members.
As you may know, Inlet's Medic1 ambulance was hit by another vehicle while delivering a mother and new born baby to St. Lukes Hospital on January 3, 2007. Mom, baby and crew are fine but the ambulance was totaled.
We still need $70,000 to pay for the new ambulance. To donate to the Inlet Ambulance Fund go to www.inletambulance.com
